Is Posting On Social Media Wasting Your Time?

Is Posting On Social Media Wasting Your Time?

The other day, I heard a business leader tell their community that “successful people aren’t on social media because it’s a waste of their time”.

They’re not wrong.

Many successful business owners have a team of employees and the company invest heavily in Facebook ads to promote the brand, so the business owner’s personal interaction on social isn’t part of their marketing mix.

For them, time they spend on here would be put to better use elsewhere.

However, that’s not universally true.

For some of us, we have a small or no team and do some or all of the marketing ourselves.

Maybe, like me, you make your income from building your personal brand on social media.

Perhaps you’re in the middle right now – you want to grow your team so you can outsource some of your marketing and you are not quite making the level of income that will enable you to hire in help yet.

Whichever stage of business you’re at, what this leader said about wasting time on social is a good reminder of the danger of using Facebook as a procrastination tool.

You will get tons more done in the time you have available for marketing when you DISCERN how and where you spend your time here.

✅ Be strategic about the groups you engage in.

🔥 Choose 1-2 groups you enjoy being in AND where you find your ideal clients.

🔥 Don’t be a silent reader, wearing ah invisibility cloak. Engage so your getting seen!

✅ Curate your newsfeed so you only see posts and people that you enjoy and value and that inspire ideas from your (internal and actual) responses to their posts

🔥 You also want a % of those posts to be read by your ideal clients so when you engage on those posts too, you are seen by even more of your ideal clients.

✅ Be mindful that you are using social media in the way that will grow your audience daily.

🔥 Are you adding new people to your audience every day?!

🔥 Do the important marketing tasks first then you could choose to reward yourself with the other stuff.

✅ Set time slots for when you are online so you don’t let mindless scrolling distract you from getting stuff done.

🔥 Spend 30-minutes strategically and effectively present on here and you could reach thousands of your ideal clients, bringing them flowing into your inbox.

✅ And make sure your Facebook bio tells us what you sell, who it’s for and how we can buy

👑 – so anytime you write anything anywhere on Facebook you give people the opportunity to follow the trail thst leads to you making those all important sales! ❤️
