My 5 copywriting tips that will increase the value of your offer

1 – So that…
[Feature of your offer] so that [benefit].
“Short copywriting video classes with text transcripts [so that] you can work through the course at your own pace, learning in the way that suits you best…”
2 – Which means…
After you tell them the feature and benefit, ‘which means’ spells out the impact to your buyer of receiving the benefit.
“… very quickly you will be writing and publishing compelling social media sales posts that convert into cash in the bank.”
3 – Will, not can
Using ‘can’ to state any part of your offer’s promise tells your prospect you are uncertain.
“When you have completed my Sizzle and Sell on Social” copywriting course, you’ll be writing words that can sell your products and services online.
‘Can sell your products…’, or, ‘will sell’?
Which one is more compelling?
4 – Units of time
To INCREASE the perceived amount of time in your offers…
e.g., the length of time your client will RECEIVE a benefit…
… use the unit of time that is the HIGHER number.
“Unlimited WhatsApp support for 7 days.”
Or,
“Unlimited WhatsApp support for 1 week”.
To DECREASE the perceived amount of time…
E.g., the length of time your client must EFFORT…
… use the unit of time that is the LOWER number.
“Drop a dress size in 28 days.”
Or,
“Drop a dress size in 4 weeks.”
Even though our logical minds know that 1 week and 7 days, and 4 weeks and 28 days are the same, the lower number feels quicker, and the higher number feels longer.
It’s your prospect’s PERCEPTION of time they must give or will receive that determines whether they buy.
5 – Power of 3
3 is the ideal number of variables for your brain to remember.
In your sales copy,
…list 3x features/benefits or bonuses
…ask 3x qualifying questions,
…or offer 3x payment options
To make your offer details simple for prospects to process and recall
– increasing the chances they will prioritise their purchase.
