These are my 4 rules for social media marketing if your goal is to build a sustainable, full-time online income.
1-Grow your network with people you like.
When you add a bunch of random folks, participate in the follow/follow-back game or only connect with those you think will buy from you now, you will burn through your network rapidly.
And you’ll end up with a newsfeed full of posts you don’t even bother reading!
2-You become interesting to people by being interested in them!
Maybe 2/100 interactions will be about your topic of expertise.
Social media is like the watercooler – where relationships are formed and nurtured.
It’s through these “watercooler moments” that people will be intrigued enough by you to click through to your bio and choose to become your next connection, subscriber, or client.
That’s when they’ll engage with you about your topic.
3-When I engage on posts, my goal is either networking to start or nurture a relationship, or writing an engaging response, then reusing the comment as content.
It doesn’t matter to me what the topic of the conversation is because by interacting, I am achieving one or both of those goals.
AND I’m VISIBLE to a bunch of their audience (any of whom could be my next dream client) who see my name and are observing my authority, energy, and attitude.
Do not underestimate the number of people silently observing!
FACT: It’s a large chunk of your potential buyers!
4-Engaging with other people, reading their posts and watching their videos that sparks the fire of inspiration inside of you so a response that just flows out of you.
If you do not have enough ideas for daily content, that tells me you are either:
NOT curating your newsfeed so you’re wasting a lot of time scrolling silently.
NOT engaging with other people’s content effectively, by which I mean your comments are the bland, “great post” type.
Or you are writing effective comments, often finding yourself pouring out a long reply and then scrolling on without reusing your comment (posts written as a comment, in response to their post) as a new piece of content for your audience.
It’s literally as simple as copying your comment and pasting it in a new post.

These 4 rules are the bedrock of how I have consistently generated a full-time income online for 13 years.
Despite my being 70% deaf, partially blind, and severely mobility impaired, selling my skills in a leveraged way online has funded our lifestyle for 10 years, since my husband quit his job.
Neither of us have taken employment on the side in that time.
I ONLY do work I love. If I’m not excited, it is a no.
My business is fully online, built around me.
I see myself as an extreme example of what you might want.
Possibly, less of you is ‘impaired’?
Maybe you still want to see some of your clients in person?
And perhaps you like regularly connecting with others at offline events and meetups?
Your business, your rules.
What I’m saying is, if I can do this with all my “stuff” and rarely leaving my house”, you can!
If you want to increase the % of your revenue that is generated online, consistently making a full-time income from doing only the work you love, with clients you enjoy, in a business built to work around your needs and lifestyle, message me to explore how we can work together to make that happen for you.
