Adding contacts to your Outlook contact database is not a list!

You must use a proper email marketing system, so you have a record of their giving you explicit consent to send marketing emails and so every email you send includes an unsubscribe link.

Nobody consciously wants to agree to receiving more emails, but when your lead magnet is compelling and valuable to them, they’ll want that.

Then your emails will be so engaging, they will enjoy seeing your name in their inbox.

Some people never look at emails, but most people do at least check their inbox.

If you’re in the majority who do check their inbox, I am certain there are a handful of people who you nearly always click to read their message because you know you will get something from it.

Be that person for your audience.

The average person receives over 100 emails every day, so let’s say they read one in every four of the emails you send.

If you’re only sending once a month, they’ll read your content three times a year.

Chances of them remembering who you are? Pretty low, I’d say!

2-3 emails per week is an ideal volume to stay front of mind between launches.

There’s no “email police” out there.

Who is deciding what is “enough” or “too many” emails?

Your subscribers are.

For some people, once a year is too much. For others, two a day is just right.

You’re not here to please everyone.

Your role is to create valuable content that helps your audience, and to serve them fully by selling your offers.

People not unsubscribing from your list is not a goal to celebrate.

The few unsubscribing means you are making an impact on the many.

Expect unsubs – but don’t go looking for them – every time you send an email.

I’ve used many of the email marketing services out there, but my #1 recommendation is Gold Star Pro.

Unlike most of the alternatives, you pay a fixed subscription of $97/month, and you will not be charged more as your list grows!
