My 3 Digital Detox Tips for Business Owners
1 – There is no need to publicly announce your departure from social media, or your return…
… other than in your paid groups or to 1-1 clients where you have a commitment to respond.
People won’t notice you missing from their newsfeed or inbox for a week or two unless you flag it up to them.
2 – Do NOT pre-schedule posts to publish during your absence.
The notifications popping up on your phone could tempt you back in, and/or your total absence when people engage with your recent posts will stand out – potentially causing concern.
3 – Days 1-4 of the detox are often the most difficult.
It takes conscious effort to break a phone scrolling habit but deleting the apps off your phone will solve that easily enough.
The bigger challenge IMO is that almost instantly you change your environment, you will BUZZ with new ideas for content, courses, or other stuff you’ll want to crack on with.
So, take a notepad, or start a clean phone note and jot them all down to get them out of your head, ready to pick up after your break.
For a decent break, stick with your digital detox for at LEAST 7 days!
If you are called to, it’s SAFE for you to take a break from your online marketing activity.
AND… your business WILL benefit exponentially from the clarity and energy you’ll return with.
Remember, YOU are your business’ most valuable asset!
Stepping back from time to time will INCREASE your asset value.
