5 ways you are sabotaging your own Facebook reach:
#1: Putting links that take people away from Facebook (especially to other social networks!) in your post.
(And to a lesser degree, in comments).
Facebook want to keep users on their platform so they can show more ads.
#2: Adding GIFs to your post
(Because they’re links to the GIF site – see above.)
#3: Sharing other people’s posts.
The algorithms assume your followers want your original content so deprioritise shares of other people’s.
#4: Publishing from 3rd party apps (like StreamYard) and scheduling posts using an external tool.
Use Facebook’s native features where available.
However, the convenience of split screen with StreamYard and Zoom may compensate for the reach decrease.
#5: Posting too often.
“Too many” posts in the same place (e.g. posting 3x today in your group) can lead to the second and subsequent posts showing in fewer newsfeeds.
When your Facebook posts include any of these, Facebook will show your content to less followers.
