Last night was awesome as approximately 30 local Twitter users attended the Redhill and Reigate Tweet Up at The Feathers Pub in Merstham. Twitter users who had been conversing online were able to meet in real life. which for many people was the first time they had met the other attendees. By the end of the evening lots of new friendships and potential business connections had formed.

I want to say thank you to everyone who came along and made it such a great night. The feedback has been immense and I’m really pleased everyone enjoyed themselves. Thank you to The Feathers too for hosting us – we did take over the dining room area somewhat! I had been looking forward to enjoying a plate of battered fish and chips as I always do when I visit The Feathers and I’m pleased to report they were just as tasty as ever!

I received lots of great feedback regarding Word of Mouth Local from the people I spoke to as most of the attendees are business owners themselves so have been participating in the venture and promoting their own business on the Facebook page. As a result of some of these conversations I will be launching a new Word of Mouth Local Business Brunch monthly networking group in May 2011. It will be a casual event with no formal structure or membership fees. Local business owners will be able to come along, grab a coffee and meet up with other local business owners. The groups will likely run between 11am and 1pm so I’m in the process of speaking to a locally owned Cafe to host us and fuel our meetings with home made cakes and light lunches should they be required. As soon as I have finalised the details I will begin promoting the launch event here and on social media.

I’ll leave you with one last picture from last night. Have you spotted yourself yet?
